Building use: Enchanted Hills Lighthouse Camp is a camp location for the blind.

How did SIP construction help you get this job? Owner and Architect wanted a highly efficient and energy efficient SIP Roof for all buildings that helped each structure easily meet Title 24 net zero energy requirements.

SIP roof thickness: 9.5”

Describe the benefits of using SIPs on this project. Did SIPs help save time, labor, construction costs, or energy? Saved tremendous amount of Labor as the installer stitched the roof panels together on the ground in prep and was able to lift large portions of the roof into place. Enabling fast dry in for finish work, and ultimately faster occupancy.

Describe any innovative design elements or structural engineering involved: The roof on all the buildings are a major design feature thus the SIP Panels highlighted each structure.

HVAC: Micro Units

Were any solar panels installed on the project? If so, indicate the size of the system: Some of the buildings have solar panels installed already, all will have them in near future for positive energy consumption.

Any additional comments on the project: This camp was burned out in the CA wildfires in Napa.  By utilizing SIPs on the roof the rebuilt camp was able to achieve the stringent fire codes in the area, gain significant energy efficiency over burned down buildings, and enabled the camp to resume operations much faster than anticipated because of the speed of construction SIPs delivered.
