The gymnasium will serve as a hub for the RMAE and Evergreen community—bringing people together to support education, arts, and athletics, celebrate commencement and other milestones, and will be available for community group/school club meetings year-round.
The builder is a loyal Extreme Panel Technologies customer with an appreciation for sustainable SIP building. The community was in dire need of a large, expansive community space that was easily achievable by using SIPs in place of traditional building methods.
SIP wall thickness and core material: 6 1/2” and 8 1/4”
SIP roof thickness and core material: 10 1/4”
The builder described the benefits of SIPs as being “comprehensive.” Every area of the project was positively impacted by using SIPs as a building method. The off-site manufacturing process was very efficient and called for next-to-zero modifications. This allowed for increased structural integrity, shorter construction times, less required labor, and minimal on-site waste.
Due to the size of the building, there are different HVAC systems in place. Please see the attached mechanical compliance certificate for details.
During the pandemic, we learned that “going remote” can work, but it is far from ideal. RMAE students and faculty had to miss out on many of theactivities they loved and realized that their small community had limited spaces for fostering community. The Den will facilitate an expandedcurriculum that focuses on the activities we all value now more than ever: performing arts, physical education, group collaboration, andextracurricular activities. We are proud to be a part of this project and to help create an ideal space for students and the Evergreen community tocome together.
