The project was presented to the owner with the conceptual idea of using Structural Insulated Panels. The energy savings, long term durability and cost effective design that come from the building peaked the owner's interest. The construction type allowed for fast construction and the energy savings were very economical. One of the advantages was having EPS engineer the prints to eliminate the need for a structural engineer. Utilizing the SIPS panels allowed savings of labor, time and energy. The estimated savings cost on the labor portion to the owner was approximately 30%.
