Speed of construction and long term energy savings. Owners were looking for a traditional design; using SIPs provided an efficient way to achieve the look they wanted. Building with SIPs saved a great deal of labor expense, as labor is extremely high in the Durango area. Project was completed in less than six months. Using SIPs will make it easy for the owners to effectively control the environment for their horses. The horse barn was designed to achieve an old world timberframe appearance. Oak timbers from Amish Country in Ohio were used for the framing. The style of the barn dates back to the early 1900s. It was designed this way at the owners' request.
