Customer had a primary interest in building a home that was inexpensive to heat and cool. Customer also wanted a home that would be simple to construct and wanted to complete some of the work himself. Building with SIPs made the project go together much quicker and easier, in spite of being erected in
below zero temperatures. The time saved was reflected in lower labor costs and got the home enclosed sooner. This allowed the builders to start interior work in a warm, comfortable environment much more quickly. Basement was built using insulated concrete forms. The main floor walls and the majority of the roof was constructed of SIPs with post and beam elements to maximize the open floor plan space.
