SIP benefits for this job:
Low cost / fast construction.

SIP wall thickness: 7-1/4"
SIP roof thickness: 11-1/4"

Comments on labor saving, construction time, construction costs and energy savings:
SIPs construction was cost effective over other applications such as masonry and was erected much faster with less labor. The improvement on energy savings was substantial over other products that used fiberglass or other types of insulation.

Innovative design elements:
The Car Barn is a simple building designed to compliment the racing element of the property it serves.  It has a suspended canopy over the entry that draws from the race car environment with a contemporary feel.

Energy use intensity in kBtu.ft2:
29.45 Btu.h per Sq. Ft. (110 kBtu/h รท 3,735 Sq. Ft.)

HVAC:
The building is being heated and cooled by (2) packaged rooftop heat pump systems (with economizers) distributed into the space and exhausted through a 2,000 high to 200 low CFM exhaust fan.

Energy saving materials used in the building envelope:
The wall openings are protected with high performing, insulated doors and windows.  Full glass doors are equipped with high efficiency glazing (SHGC 0.35, PF 1.00, VT 0.30).

Energy efficient products or design features:
All lighting is high bay LED in the main space with LEDs elsewhere.  Heated water for the restroom is provided by an electric tank heater size appropriately for the use.

Additional comments:
SIPs are easy to design with and represent a significant savings in time and money.  The end product is energy efficient and can be used in so many applications.
