Building use:
The Breakfast Club is located across the street from St. Michael-Albertville High School. It is a student club that holds up to 500 students; a space for high school students to enjoy a full breakfast and hear a teaching from the Bible before school.

SIP benefits for this job:
The timber framer, Ben Miller - Blue Ox Timber Frames, strongly recommended SIPs to enclose the timber structure.
After doing some research, youth pastor, Jake Vanada - the Breakfast Club organizer, said that the advantages of using SIPs greatly out-weighed the cost.

SIP wall thickness: 6" walls with EPS insulating core
SIP roof thickness: 12" roof with EPS insulating core

Comments on labor saving, construction time, construction costs and energy savings:
The builder felt the building went together quickly and smoothly.  He said it was the right product for the job.  The outcome was a straighter plane that made the finish work easier to complete.

Innovative design elements:
The Blue Ox Timber Frames were designed to resist gravity and wind lateral load.

HVAC:
The main sanctuary area is conditioned with four Carrier #5T-RTU-208V1P ground-mounted roof-top units:  ARI SEER = 14.00; 81% AFUE. The building also features in-floor heat supplied by a high-efficiency boiler. The other areas are conditioned with Lennox ML14XC1S042-230 SEER 15.5 condenser and ML196UH070XE48B 96% AFUE natural gas furnace.

Additional energy efficient products or features:
Lindsay insulated, double pane glass fixed windows.

Additional energy-efficient products or design features:
LED fixtures used for interior and exterior lighting. Energy efficient kitchen appliances.

Additional comments:
Pastor Vanada has no regrets about using SIPs on this project.  The natural gas bill for December 2021 was $280.00 with average temperature of 28 degrees F.
The Breakfast Club received many donations to complete the construction.  Lindsay donated the windows and doors, B & D Plumbing and Heating donated the HVAC system, plus they received many cash donations.  The project was finished with no loans or debt.
Their first event was held on September 30, 2021. Over 380 students attended the event.
STMA Breakfast Club started in 2014 in the basement of the Vanada’s home with 14 students.
