Building use:
End use is an off-grid hunting camp

How did SIP construction help you get this job?
Client desired a tight, energy efficient building envelope that would make off-grid camping during hunting season more comfortable and convenient.  SIPs were installed on a timberframe structure.  This building method allowed the client to complete the work himself.

SIP wall thickness: 4 5/8" thick with EPS Core
SIP roof thickness: 8 1/4" thick with EPS Core

Describe the benefits of using SIPs on this project:
The ease of installation of SIPs on a timberframe allowed the client to self-build.  Because the finished project is completely off-grid, SIP construction offers an energy efficient and tight building envelope that maximizes the solar power generated by roof panels as well as the heat generated by the wood stove.

Innovative design elements:
Off-grid project

HVAC System:
Wood stove for heating, no air conditioning

Solar panels installed:
Unknown size of solar array
