Describe the end use of the building: Residential single family home

How did SIP construction help you get this job?
Customer wanted SIPS construction. Communication with customer and website.

SIP wall thickness and core material: 6-3/8" Core = 5-1/2" EPS
SIP roof thickness and core material: 10-3/8" Core = 9-1/2" EPS

Describe the benefits of using SIPs on this project. Did SIPs help save time, labor, construction costs, or energy?
Accurate prints, columns, panels and knowledge results in sound energy efficient buildings. Due to the complexity of this home and learning curve of the construction crew the time, labor and construction cost would be simulator to a conventional "stick" home. Overall structural strength and efficiency of the home is what exceeds traditional homes.

Describe any innovative design elements or structural engineering involved:
House was built with an "open" concept. Structural beams were needed and designed to support the roof SIP panels. Many of these support beams are exposed giving the home a "warm lodge" type atmosphere also making it possible to construct a loft to overlook the great room. A walk out balcony (from kitchen) allowed for cathedral ceiling.

Describe the HVAC system used on the project: Per an HVAC load calculation a zoned system was installed:
Carrier Model 25VNA0G0 Green Speed 5 ton heat pump with full variable speed compressor
Carrier Model FE4ANB006 variable speed 5 ton DC Com. air handler
Carrier Model KFCEH3401F24 back up heat package
Carrier Model SYSTXCC4Z01 four zone infinity series control module
Carrier Model HRVCRSUB 110 CFM HRV for ventilation of conditioned space

Describe any other energy-saving materials used in the building envelope other than SIPs. List U-values of windows used and the U or R-value of any insulation materials:
Pella Windows: U Factor 0.30, SHGS = 0.30, VLT = 0.57
Pella Doors: U Factor 0.14, SHGS = 0.01, VLT = 0.00
Specialty Precast Company : Basement wall panels are insulated with 8-1/2" of R-30 energy stat insulation

Please list any energy-efficient products or design features, such as lighting, hot water heating, appliances, passive solar:
1) Hot water take Rheem Marathon Model MHD75245 , Efficiency = 98%
2) Lithonia Lighting, 6: LED switchable, white color temp. fixtures used throughout the house.
3) Kitchen Aid refirgerator KRFC302ESS
4) Kitchen Aid 30" electric convection stove KSEB900ESS
5) Kitchen Aid dishwasher KDTE334GPS
6) ASKO washer W4114CW
7) ASKO dryer T208VW

Any additional comments on the project: House includes:
1) Retrofitted for a Kohler backup generator Model 20RCA
2) Garage door: 9' x 8' Model 5602 Shoreline insulated steel with WIFI enabled opener
3) Kitchen/bathrooms/laundry room/master closet custom designed by The Kitchen Village, Inc.
4) Fireplace mantel was from a log cabin in West Virginia
