Vacation Cabin in the Woods
This customer previously purchased timber frame products from us and returned for assistance when building their retirement cabin. They sought the best and were delighted by the rapid construction and the energy efficiency provided by the SIP walls and roof.
- SIP Wall Thickness & Core: 6" EPS
- SIP Roof Thickness & Core: 10" EPS
The project progressed swiftly, resulting in a robust, weathertight shell. This allowed for a more leisurely pace in completing the interior and exterior finishes, as the structure was already well-protected. The framing crew, despite having no prior experience with timber framing or SIP panels, performed admirably and expressed interest in working on future projects.
Located in a snowy mountain region, the combination of Douglas Fir Timber Frame and Premier SIP Panels proved ideal. Structural engineers collaborated closely to ensure the design met the specific requirements of this challenging location.
