How did SIP construction help you get this job?
SIP construction was able to meet the homeowner's parameters of reducing the construction timeline while creating an energy efficient structure.

SIP wall thickness and core material: 6½" EPS core

Describe the benefits of using SIPs on this project. Did SIPs help save time, labor, construction costs, or energy?
The homeowner demolished the existing structure on the site which was their primary residence. As a result, constructing a habitable structure quickly was of paramount concern. Using structural insulated panels on this project allowed the homeowner to shorten the construction timeline. In addition, SIPs and the energy efficiency they offer met the needs of the homeowner who specified that green architectural principles be used in the home's design and build.

Describe any innovative design elements or structural engineering involved:
The home includes hydronic radiant floor heat, floor to ceiling windows, and top of the line kitchen appliances. In addition, green architectural principles were incorporated into the design and material selection for the home, including siding made from locally sourced mills and forests.

Describe the HVAC system used on the project: In addition to the hydronic radiant floor heat, the home has natural gas, forced air.

Please list any energy-efficient products or design features, such as lighting, hot water heating, appliances, passive solar:
The project includes a tankless water heater

Were any solar panels installed on the project? If so, indicate the size of the system:
No, solar panels were not installed on the project

Please list any sustainable materials or design features not listed above, such as recycled materials, low-VOC finishes, landscaping, etc.:
The project includes elements of Xerioscape landscaping with minimal turf areas, extensive mulching, and plantings designed to mitigate views from the street.

Any additional comments on the project:
SIPs are a perfect complement to the modern, clean lines of this home's architecture.
