How did SIP construction help you get this job?
The home owner had made the decision that they wanted to build a SIP home. The local contractor with SIP construction experience was too busy and unable to build the home. The home owner reached out to Extreme Panel in search of another builder and Extreme gave them some referrals in turn, Extreme Panel Technologies provided the SIPs for the project.
SIP wall thickness and core material: 8 1/4", EPS
SIP roof thickness and core material: 12 1/4", EPS
Describe the benefits of using SIPs on this project. Did SIPs help save time, labor, construction costs, or energy?
The home owner originally designed the home with a truss roof, but decided to take advantage of the extra storage space on the third floor that a SIP roof would offer as well as the additional R-Value gain. This roof line is very unique and is in essence a tension roof with no beam support . It is an engineering masterpiece by the one of a kind Tom Moore at Pinnacle Engineering.
