How did SIP construction help you get this job?
By using SIPs as primary roof structure and insulation, we were able to achieve the exposed truss look the consumer was looking for making it a one step process, wee got the R value they needed and the look they wanted.
SIP wall thickness and core material: R-26
SIP roof thickness and core material: R-50 Neopor foam 10" panels
Describe the benefits of using SIPs on this project. Did SIPs help save time, labor, construction costs, or energy?
Saved time as the roof sheeting, insulation and interior finish were completed in one step. Also with Neopor core they were able to achieve the R-50 that the code required.
Describe any innovative design elements or structural engineering involved:
Exposed trusses made for an open look, very nice look for the clients.
List any certifications the project received, such as ENERGY STAR, LEED, National Green Building Standard, WELL, Passive House, Green Globes or local green building programs:
Anderson windows are Energy Star 6.0
Describe the HVAC system used on the project:
92% high efficient furnace with hot water in floor radiant heat.
Describe any other energy-saving materials used in the building envelope other than SIPs. List U-values of windows used and the U or R-value of any insulation materials:
Anderson Eagle windows with low E-Sun Glass, U-.25
List any sustainable materials or design features not listed above, such as recycled materials, low-VOC finishes, landscaping, etc:
Recycled rubber flooring, exposed concrete flooring and low VOC paints.
Any additional comments on the project:
Roof panels offered the opportunity to have an open concept while maintaining a vaulted look with open wood trusses.
