Describe the end use of the building: Multifamily

How did SIP construction help you get this job?
We financed the project as well. We chose SIPs as the owner because we saw the long term value.

SIP wall thickness and core material:
6 1/2"

SIP roof thickness and core material:
10 1/4"

Describe the benefits of using SIPs on this project. Did SIPs help save time, labor, construction costs, or energy?
We were able to frame the project in 3 weeks. This greatly reduced the cost of labor for part of the project. When we did our blower testing the inspector was amazed at how tight of a building we had created. Now that we have tenants in the place, they pay $30/month to heat or cool their apartment regardless of season.

Describe any innovative design elements or structural engineering involved:
The SIPs panels allowed us to do a really cool shed roof on the third floor. These units ended up having 14 ft. ceilings and an extra wall of windows. Many remarked that these were the nicest apartments they had seen in Longmont.
