How did SIP construction help you get this job?
Client was looking for a sustainable, energy efficient DADU that they could use as a rental property in the short term, with the long term goal of using it as their primary home in retirement, allowing them to travel extensively. SIPs panels provided us with a greener alternative to traditional construction, that delivered the energy efficiency they were looking for.

Describe the benefits of using SIPs on this project. Did SIPs help save time, labor, construction costs, or energy?

SIPs panels allowed us to build the DADU for substantially less than the quotes Client received for traditional construction. Additionally, the SIPs panels provided a much more energy efficient structure, benefitting the homeowners for years to come.

Describe any innovative design elements or structural engineering involved:
The pier and beam foundation that was used provides a more flexible, greener alternative to a slab foundation, with less concrete, and less disturbance to the existing yard and plants.

Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV), whole house fan, bathroom fan and cadet heater.
