How did SIP construction help you get this job?
As a spec home builder, I chose to use SIP panels in the construction of this house and ADU to help achieve Net Zero status.

SIP wall thickness and core material: 6"

SIP roof thickness and core material: 6"

Describe the benefits of using SIPs on this project. Did SIPs help save time, labor, construction costs, or energy?
This was my first project utilizing SIP construction. I knew going into the project that there would be a learning curve on this first home. Even with the lack of experience with the product, I still feel that our labor costs were the same if not less than traditional framing. Going forward, I truly believe that SIP construction will save labor costs as well as help me achieve Net Zero certifications, which is my goal. Another major benefit to using SIP construction is the minimal material waste compared to stick framing. This was of great importance to me.

Please list any certifications the project received, such as ENERGY STAR, LEED, National Green Building Standard, WELL, Passive House, Green Globes or local green building programs. Only list certifications that are completed:
Earth Advantage Zero Energy Certification

Blower door test results: 0.06 ACH50

Describe the HVAC system used on the project:
Ductless heat pump with mini splits

Describe any other energy-saving materials used in the building envelope other than SIPs. List U-values of windows used and the U or R-value of any insulation materials:
Triple pane windows and doors - U value .19 Aerobarrier air sealing
Energy Star Appliances Smart Thermostat

Please list any energy-efficient products or design features, such as lighting, hot water heating, appliances, passive solar:
Heat Pump Water Heater Ductless Heaty Pump

Were any solar panels installed on the project? If so, indicate the size of the system:
14KW solar system

Any additional comments on the project:
This method of building provides improved indoor air quality, quieter living spaces, and an overall healthier living environment while saving the owner money in utility bills.
