The temperatures in Northern Minnesota get very low. Using SIPs definitely sped up the project’s build timeline. SIPs made it a clear choice for builder and homeowner as home was constructed in the middle of winter. SIP foundation panels used for lower level theatre comfort.
SIPs were the only option Knutson offered to build this project. SIPs gave customer what they were looking for as this house has a big demand for proper temperature and humidity control. 1. Needed to protect and make structurally sound a 200-year-old reclaimed timber frame structure. 2. True wood burning fireplace. 3. Over a million dollars in mounted animals going into the structure. With the size of this project, SIPs was the only option to build with.
