Single Family Residence
Silver Creek Custom Homes, an experienced SIP builder, collaborated with the owner to construct an energy-efficient home using Enercept SIPs. The owner, educated on the benefits of SIP construction, was impressed by the speed, strength, and high energy efficiency offered by SIPs.
SIP Specifications:
- Wall Thickness and Core Material: 5-1/2" core panels
- Roof Thickness and Core Material: 11-7/8" core panels
The home was fully enclosed in just a few days, thanks to the efficient construction process. Designed to withstand a roof snow load of 65 PSF, a ground snow load of 75 PSF, and a wind speed of 104 ULT, the residence is both robust and resilient.
Energy Efficiency: The home is 100% electric, utilizing mini-split heat pumps for both heating and cooling. High-efficiency Energy Star windows and doors with a U-value of 30 further enhance the energy performance.
Additionally, the owner installed 12 solar panels on the roof, each being 3x5 60-cell, resulting in a net-zero electric bill. The home is south-facing and built into the existing land grade to maximize sun exposure.
