Structural insulated panels from Premier SIPs are one of the key elements in the new Sustainable Agricultural and Energy (SAGE) Center, a museum featuring the products and processes driving the economy in rural Morrow County, Oregon. Located in Boardman, OR, this interactive visitors center will highlight the technology used in food processing, farming and alternative energy production.
SIPs were used for the walls and roof of the 23,000 sq. ft. building. Specifying prefabricated SIPs cut days off the construction cycle that framers would have spent constructing the building’s unique arched openings and other innovative design features.
Exhibits include a history of the Boardman area, an inside look at a food processing plant, and examples of the latest farming and alternative energy technology. The building will also serve as an event space for fundraisers, civic gatherings, and school-related functions.
