Minneapolis restaurant selects SIPs for new location
Popular Minneapolis eatery Travail Kitchen and Amusements attracted the attention of CBS affiliate WCCO
not for their food, but for their new, innovative restaurant currently under construction. The sustainable building will be fully enclosed with structural insulated panels (SIPs) from Extreme Panel Technologies
Curt Stendel from SIP dealer/distributor Panelworks Plus
was on hand to explain the benefits of SIPs to reporter Jason DeRusha
“It’s cutting edge technology for a cutting edge restaurant,” Stendel says in the interview.
Travail was named one of the top new restaurants in America in 2011 by Bon Appetit. The restaurant launched a Kickstarter campaign
to help raise funding for a new, larger location. Its loyal following responded overwhelmingly—raising $250,000, more than three times the campaign’s goal.
The unfinished building will be open to the public today, Wednesday, October 16 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
