Learn about SIPs and commercial construction at Minneapolis Wood Solutions Fair
On September 17, WoodWorks will host a Wood Solutions Fair in Minneapolis, Minnesota
, offering local architects and engineers a full day of educational sessions on the use of wood in nonresidential and multifamily construction. The event is one of a series held throughout the U.S. and presented free of charge to members of the architectural and engineering community.
Attendees can earn up to six AIA Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) credits. Seminars begin at 8:00 am at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
SIPA member Lee Bergum of Energy Panel Structures will present an Introduction to Structural Insulated Panels, covering how SIPs can contribute to energy-efficient and sustainable building design. The seminar will go into detail on the best ways to use SIPs for optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness, proper SIP detailing, building code requirements, and the economic benefits of SIP construction.
Bergum is a District Sales Manager for SIPA manufacturing member Energy Panel Structures (EPS)
of Graettinger, Iowa. He brings 37 years of construction experience to his position at EPS. He regularly presents seminars for architects, builders, and developers on energy-efficient construction, and has served as a past speaker at the SIPA Annual Meeting & Conference.
