Jim Allen
High Performance Building Systems & Consulting, Inc.

Jim Allen is recognized as one of the foremost subject matter experts in the metal skin SIP industry with more than 25 years of experience in residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional building projects.  In addition to supplying high performance metal skin building systems and components, he has worked in project management, consulting, value-added engineering, and design.


Allen has developed engineering, testing, and certification programs for various building component and system manufacturing companies, as well as worked with testing laboratories and approval authorities to receive state, national, and international approval listings and certifications for SIP building systems.

Christine Barney
CEO, rbb Public Relations

Christine M. Barney is CEO and managing partner of rbb, a four-time national Agency of the Year winner.  Barney develops multifaceted marketing communications programs for a variety of clients including DHL Express, Duncan Hines, Hilton’s Homewood Suites, Mrs. Butterworth’s, Florida Power & Light and Kaplan University.

She is the author of “The Breakout Brand Strategy: An Evolutionary Approach to Creating Customer Passion” and her firm is known as the champion of Breakout Brands.

Barney’s innovative management style and “employee-driven workplace” philosophy made the firm a repeated winner in the Inc. Magazine/Wall Street Journal’s Top 30 Small Workplaces list.  She is accredited by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).   

Michelle Cottrell
President, Design Management Services


As the founding principal of Design Management Services, Michelle Cottrell is motivated by the quest for quality in every phase of the project process. She is passionate about green building and conscience of implementing a sustainable design approach within every project.

She graduated with highest honors from the University of Florida’s College of Architecture, where she earned a Bachelor of Design in Interior Design and a minor in Business Administration. She is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration in Sustainability.

She is a six-time published author, LEED Accredited Professional, a licensed interior designer, and project manager with more than ten years of experience bridging the gap between operating and capital budgets to meet the client's triple bottom line goals for sustainable commercial projects.


Dick Crawford
Director of Business Development, Fin Pan


Dick Crawford is the Director of Business Development for both Fin Pan and T Clear Corp., a manufacturer of cementitious-faced structural insulated panels.  He is the former owner of Acoustical and Interior Distributors, Inc. and a former National Accounts Sales Manager for Armstrong World Industries.

Jerry Gillman
CEO, Innova Eco Building System


Jerry Gillman has over 30 years of construction experience, including airports, port facilities, government buildings, detention facilities, educational, and health care projects located throughout South and Central Florida. Gillman has also rebuilt over 100 hurricane-damaged homes from hurricanes Andrew and Charlie.

His first experience with SIP construction was a builder in 1985 while constructing the West and Northwest Concourses of the Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. Gillman entered the SIP market full time in 2008 as a manufacturer of cementitious skin SIPs. Jerry is currently the CEO of Innova Eco Building System, a manufacturer of SIPs in Miami, Florida. Innova manufactures SIPs with MGO, cementitious, plywood, and OSB skins.

Ron Jones
President and Co-Founder, Green Builder Media

Ron Jones is a national award winning designer and builder, a noted industry leader for the past quarter century, and a lifelong champion of sustainability.   A Life Director and former National Vice President at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), he is the only such person ever to have also served on the national Board of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Jones was named charter chairman of the NAHB Green Building Subcommittee for two years and remained on another eight years as a committee member.  He also served as Chairman of the Consensus Committee seated jointly by NAHB and the International Code Council to develop the original version the National Green Building Standard, ICC-700.  Jones has delivered presentations and training at conferences and events in 49 of the 50 states and on four continents, and is recognized for his “take no prisoners” style throughout the green building and sustainable development sectors, through speaking at live events around the country, and the writings in his monthly column, From the Tailgate, and his thought-leadership blog, The Gatekeeper.

Archie Landreman
North Central Regional Director, WoodWorks

Archie Landreman lives in Racine, Wisconsin and is the Regional Director for WoodWorks in the North Central Region in the U.S.  WoodWorks is an initiative of the Wood Products Council.  He has been active in the wood and structural building component industry since 1970, and has extensive experience with lumber, structural wood panels, prefabricated wall panels, wood trusses, engineered wood beams, and I-joists. He has held various sales and sales management positions in the wood truss and engineered wood products industry.  More recently, Landreman has become deeply involved with post frame construction, structural insulated panels, and cross laminated timber. A major area of focus is working with repetitive retail buildings in order to substitute wood framing systems for steel and concrete. 

Landreman is an active and participating member of the American Institute of Architects, Association of Licensed Architects, Construction Specifications Institute, Forest Products Society, International Council of Shopping Centers, National Frame Building Association, Structural Building Components Association, Structural Engineers Association of Wisconsin, Structural Insulated Panel Association, and collaborates with the North American Wholesale Lumber Association and Forest Products Lab in Madison, Wisconsin.


Phillip LaRocque
President, LaRocque Business Management

Phillip LaRocque is President of a management services company specializing in green building and energy efficiency technical services to the building and design industries.  He served as the Chief Executive Officer of the New York State Builders Association, managing 3,000 member companies and 16 local affiliates who perform or support $5 billion of residential construction in New York State annually.

LaRocque also served as the Director of Governmental Affairs for the General Building Contractors of New York State.  He is a Home Innovation Research Lab’s National Green Building Standard Green Partner of Excellence award winner and was elected as a Senior Officer to the Executive Officers Council (EOC) of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).


James Lyons

James Lyons, P.E. works as a research engineer supporting the Department of Zero Energy Ready Home Program. Lyons has expertise in building systems research and development, codes and standards development, and industry stakeholder training. 

Lyons holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and Masters of Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Maryland.

Bruce McCullen
McCullen Management Consultants

Bruce McCullen is the President of McCullen Management Consultants, a practice focused on business development in resilience.  He is a seasoned management and leadership professional with more than 25 years of business and consulting experience.  His impacts in the life safety and disaster mitigation industry have involved working with various stakeholders including FEMA, FIMA, NFIP, American Red Cross, numerous state emergency managers, the International Code Council, and private insurance companies.  These relationships were developed during his tenure as the Senior Vice President of partner relations for the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH).


McCullen has been engaged to formulate and lead resiliency programs for fortune 100 companies and has worked with a variety of Non-Government Organizations including AIA, NIBS, IBHS, NIST, AFH, BPI, USGBC, Florida Green Building Council, FSEC, Habitat for Humanity, and National VOADS.  His work has generally centered on bringing together both sustainability and disaster durability.

Amber Wood
Manager of Energy Modeling Services, Architectural Energy Corporation

Amber Wood, P.E. has over 13 years of experience in energy modeling, sustainability, codes and standards, construction, and research and development. As Manager of Energy Modeling Services at NORESCO/AEC, Wood is responsible for leading the energy modeling team, as well as helping project design teams weigh alternative strategies for improving building performance; reducing operating costs; and complying with energy performance goals, local or state energy requirements, or complying with green building certifications.

Although Wood's primary focus is energy efficiency, she has also been involved in green building as the staff liaison for the Energy Task group working on the National Green Building Standard. Prior to joining the NORESCO/AEC in 2013, Wood worked in energy efficiency research for Nexus EnergyHomes and previously led the Home Innovation Research Labs DOE Building America Research Team. She holds a master's degree in engineering systems and a Bachelor of Science degree in civil and mechanical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
