Hundreds of builders, architects and other building industry professionals will gather at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona for the Structural Insulated Panel Association (SIPA) Annual Meeting & Conference, April 2–4, 2013. The annual industry event offers training and education on sustainable construction with structural insulated panels (SIPs), a high performance panelized building system used in energy-efficient homes and commercial buildings.
The conference features three separate educational tracks tailored to specific audience groups: sales and marketing professionals; builders and architects; and timber framers. Builders and architects will have access to a full day of informative sessions covering all aspects of sustainable design, including mechanical systems, HERS ratings, zero-energy building design, and a two-hour building science workshop with Allison Bailes of Energy Vanguard.
Keynote speaker Paul Zanecki, the founder and CEO of Nexus EnergyHomes, will explain how to successfully market sustainable homes and why SIPs became an important part of his company’s groundbreaking zero-energy home design.
Three AIA Continuing Education sessions and a two-hour introductory builder training course will be offered free of charge on Tuesday, April 2, beginning at 8:00am. Advanced registration is recommended at: www.sips.org/seminar
Other events include an industry trade show, networking opportunities, and highlights of innovative SIP projects during the SIPA Building Excellence Awards.
All events take place at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, 7000 N Resort Dr, Tucson, AZ. Register online at: www.sips.org/sipa-annual-meeting.
