SIPA Annual Meeting & Conference Scheduled for March 17-19 in New Orleans
Structural insulated panel manufacturers and professionals will convene in New Orleans, La. for the Structural Insulated Panel Association (SIPA) Annual Meeting & Conference. The trade association’s annual get together has long been a focal point for the industry to network and attend educational sessions on SIP-related research and marketing strategies.
The SIPA Annual Meeting & Conference will feature specialized breakout sessions focusing on cutting edge sales strategies, innovative marketing tactics, and installation and design issues specific to SIP construction.
Well-known building scientist and author Joe Lstiburek will deliver a three-hour presentation on his new book, a Builder’s Guide to Structural Insulated Panels. This comprehensive building science guide will be the first publication devoted to best construction practices for structural insulated panel systems. The book is expected to be released in February of 2008.
“Joe Lstiburek’s Builder’s Guide to SIPs will be a major step forward for SIPA and the SIP industry as a whole,” said Bill Wachtler, Executive Director of SIPA. “The book applies the latest building science principles to SIPs, giving builders and architects the best installation and detailing guidelines for any climate zone,” Wachtler added.
Other keynote speakers include Adrian Cronauer and Dr. Darlene Williams, Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Adrian Cronauer is a nationally recognized speaker and often best remembered for the inspiration behind Robin William’s character in the film Good Morning, Vietnam. Cronauer now serves as Special Assistant to the Director of the POW/MIA Office at the Department of Defense and has appeared on NBC-TV’s Today, Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, and other national television programs.
Attendees will also experience the SIPA Annual Meeting & Conference trade show, featuring many of the latest SIP manufacturing and building technologies. Current or prospective SIPA members have the opportunity attend committee meetings or member breakout sessions to discuss pertinent association and industry issues.
“SIPA has grown tremendously in recent years,” said Wachtler. “The SIPA Annual Meeting is an opportunity for members to catch up on the latest association news, network with industry colleagues, and contribute their ideas to help shape the future of the organization.”
