Member Benefits

The Structural Insulated Panel Association is a non-profit trade association that supports all segments of the SIP industry.  SIPA offers a variety of resources to manufacturers, dealer/distributors, design professionals, suppliers of SIP components, and builders who build with SIPs.  Becoming a SIPA member opens up a valuable network of industry contacts, colleagues, and opportunities for your business.

·         Leads - SIPA members receive a complete listing on the SIPA website database that allows users to search for SIPA members by location and category.  Members are also forwarded qualified leads from potential homeowners in their area who use the SIPA website.

·         Marketing – SIPA’s goal is to capture 5% of the residential housing market in five years.  Members of SIPA have created a Strategic Marketing Plan to achieve this goal.  Items on the plan include exhibiting at trade shows such as the International Builders’ Show, promoting SIPs through the Energy Star program, and working with major SIP influencers such as the NAHB and the U.S. Green Building Council.  SIPA has the funding, the infrastructure and the means to make a significant change in the way America builds homes.

·         Technical Research – SIPA has sponsored numerous programs for testing and verifying the performance of panels as an industry, instead of individual companies.  The Prescriptive Method for SIP Wall Systems, soon to be finalized through a collaborative effort between SIPA and HUD, enables builders, design professionals and code officials to specify panels based on an industry standard.  Working together towards an industry standard benefits all segments of the SIP industry.

·         Public Relations – SIPA actively promotes the accomplishments of its members.  Member case studies are featured in the Onsite@SIPA electronic newsletter.  SIPA also hosts the annual Building Excellence Awards to showcase member projects at both the SIPA Annual Meeting and Conference and in press releases to major publications.  Take a look at SIPA’s PR Report to see some examples.

·         Education – SIPA membership is essential for anyone wanting to learn about structural insulated panels.  In addition to the seminars offered at the SIPA Annual Meeting and Conference, members have access to a library of publications and promotional materials to educate both themselves and their customers.  Builders joining SIPA will receive a complimentary “toolkit” of books, instructional DVDs and advertising logos, valued at over $100.

·         Networking – Members of SIPA gain a valuable networking resource.  The association provides a forum for interaction between members in different segments of the SIP industry.  At the SIPA Annual Meeting and Conference, members attend seminars and workshops by experienced and preeminent figures in the SIP industry.  Members also have the option of participating in the Annual Meeting Trade Show and advertising at the only trade show exclusive to the SIP industry.

·         Quality Assurance – Working with SIPA members means working with businesses that provide quality products and services.  SIPA members must provide third party testing, continuing quality assurance and be in good standing within the industry.  Being a member of SIPA demonstrates reassuring credibility to potential customers.
