Video explains SIP installation at Mariposa Meadows

SIPschool Director Al Cobb breaks down the use of structural insulated panels (SIPs) at the new Green Builder® Media VISION House® at Mariposa Meadows, high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.  In this six-minute video, Cobb explains how SIPs help create an airtight and thermally efficient building envelope on all three buildings that make up the Mariposa Meadows project, and also offers advice for new SIP installers, including answers to common plumbing, electrical, and code compliance questions.

The Mariposa Meadows project will be a self-sufficient, net-zero energy sustainability institute that will allow building industry professionals to come explore green building, renewable energy, and resilient construction in a picturesque mountain setting.  As the SIP sponsor of the project, SIPA and its members supplied the SIPs and aided with the installation on the project.
