As construction of North America’s first Active House comes to a close, the team behind Active House USA will host a special open house event on Saturday, March 9, 2013. Located in the historic Webster Groves neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, the 2,500 sq. ft. home is one of the first prototypes to be built to the international Active House standard.
The project is a partnership between Hibbs Homes and Verdatek Solutions, using structural insulated panels, extensive daylighting, and other innovative design elements to reach net zero energy (Read more about the home and the Active House standard here).
There are two open house events scheduled on site at Active House USA before the homeowners move in:
Industry and Media Day
Friday March 8, 2013
12pm until 2pm
Open House for General Public
Saturday March 9, 2012
10am until 2pm (RSVP on Facebook)
The site is located at 215 S Gray Avenue, Webster Groves, MO
Some of the top names in green building will be on hand to discuss the processes and products being used for positive energy production, a healthier indoor environment, and their balance with the environment.
